Cannes Property - Your guide to Real Estate in Cannes
Stay in a Nice holiday apartment while property hunting The Cannes property market is always strong - Cannes has been a popular resort for around 150 years yet remains relatively a small town. Rules of supply and demand mean that prices are high. But where to buy your Cannes Property? The Sea Front (La Croisette). One of the most famous sea front locations in the World, La Croisette is synonymous with the glamour of the Film Festival and luxury shopping. Unsurprisingly there are plenty of high priced Cannes properties with fabulous sea views along the strip. These sea front properties should prove to be strong investments and good renters ... but the prices are high. Le Suquet, The Old Town. A mass of old winding streets up on the hill above the port, the Old Town has a totally different feel from the modernity of the New Town. This is the most picturesque quarter of Cannes and property here can be hard to find. Point Croisette. At the easternmost part of the bay, Point Croisette is right by the modern ports (where the film stars moor their yachts) - there is plenty here for holiday makers (bars and restaurants) and it is not far to the centre of town. A Cannes property here would make a popular investment for renting out and be popular with yachties.
Le Cannet. Is a pretty little village now making up part of Cannes's suburbs. Le Cannet has an arty feel and some of the older little houses are charming. La Californie and Basse Californie. Situated above Cannes and named after the luxury-villa-studded-hills above Los Angeles, La Californie (and neighbour Super Cannes) is home to some of the most luxurious villas in Cannes. There is a real mix of old Belle epoque mansions and hyper modern designs. These properties nearly all have sweeping views. The 3 to 4 kilometres drive into town is well served by the bus network. Falling geographically between the town centre and La Californie is Basse Californie. This is less exclusive and rather suburban. Mougins. Further out still (15 minute drive) is Mougins. Surrounded by forests, Mougins is a pretty medieval village made popular by artists and designers. It is quite expensive but in the surrounding villages one can often find property bargains.
