Eze is without doubt one of the prettiest perched villages in all of Provence. Only 10 minutes from Nice city center, Eze enjoys spectacular views out over the Riviera and even as far as Corsica.

The old village centre of Eze is on the last hilltop where the foothills of the Alps tumble into the sea. There is still the ruins of a former Saracen fortress and the original town walls are intact. The old village itself is wonderfully picturesque, though at times it can be rather touristy. The narrow cobbled streets of golden houses get very busy in summer but are close to deserted in winter.

Sometimes it is hard to remember that these beautiful gateways and cosy corners were not built to charm 21st century visitors, rather to defend the village against invaders.

The real crowning glory of Eze, in our opinion, is the outstandingly beautiful Exotic Gardens. The gardens are above the old village and contain a fantastic collection of succulent plants and cacti. Not only are the plants fabulous but the views are come of the very finest on the whole cote d'azur.
