Buy a Nice Apartment - On the Sea FrontA Nice apartment on the prestigious sea front will be expensive to buy but should prove to be a sound long term investment. Unsurprisingly the sea front is the most expensive area of Nice property. If you want a fully renovated period property with sea views right on the Promenade des Anglais expect to pay serious money (it is hard to offer a guide price as there are many potential variables but a figure around 7,000 euros per square metre is a reasonable estimate figure for 2008). Lose the panoramic sea view and the prices fall considerably. Once you get a kilometre or so inland, say North of the train station then the prices are cheaper still - but you will have lost much of the cote d'azur living feel. Be aware that the sea front can be noisy so try to find an apartment on a high floor - quieter, better views but just make sure you have a lift! |
